Lisa Wooldridge
Soprano Section Leader
Soprano Lisa Wooldridge is a native of New Jersey and has been located in the Philadelphia area since 2019. She currently sings with the Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia and appears regularly with the IndependentSounds! music festival. Favorite operatic roles include Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare in Egitto) and Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro).
With a particular interest in early music, Lisa previously appeared with the Penn Collegium, the Middlebury Collegium, and the Middlebury Bach Festival. In addition, she sang with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and the Oriana Consort while living in the greater Boston area. Prior to arriving at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Lisa spent three years as a choral scholar with the choir at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at Hamilton Village.
Lisa currently studies with Angela Gilbert. She earned her BA from Middlebury College and her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of St. Martin’s, Lisa is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Center for Substance Abuse Research at Temple University, where she investigates how substance use affects the formation of habits.
