Updated Family Worship guidelines
May 24, 2021
Dear parents and families,
As we continue to evolve into a "new normal," the clergy and staff at St. Martin's have been working diligently to provide a safe worship space for all. The CDC and State of Pennsylvania have released updated guidelines which have informed our decisions about worship. As both the CDC and State of Pennsylvania continue to update guidelines, we will make decisions about worship that ensure the safety of our parishioners and staff.
Beginning May 24, 2021, the following changes will apply to our Family Worship (9:15am) liturgy:
- All participants (clergy/worship leaders, parents, guardians, children) will continue to wear masks. Those who are reading or presiding at the microphone may remove their masks while reading and put it back on prior to returning to their seat.
- Registration is no longer required to attend Family Worship. Upon arrival, however, families will be asked to complete a brief sign-in sheet.
- Singing is permitted at Family Worship. We will limit singing to one-two songs each service. Additionally, we will continue to encourage the use of our shaker eggs and ribbons for rhythm and movement in our songs. Singing is not mandatory.
For the health and safety of all of God's beloved people, we strongly recommend all who are able to get the COVID-19 vaccine. If you need assistance acquiring a vaccine, please contact the Rev. Jarrett Kerbel or the Rev. Barb Ballenger. More information about the COVID-19 vaccine can be found here.
Questions about these changes may be directed to the Rev. Jarrett Kerbel or Minister for Children & Youth, Anne Alexis Harra.
In Christ,
Anne Alexis Harra, Minister for Children & Youth
