Sunday Forum 2/13: Abraham Lincoln's Religion: From Doubt to Divine Providence

Monday, February 7, 2022, 2:17 PM
Dr. David Contosta and the Rev. Jarrett Kerbel will explore the spiritual formation and theology of President Abraham Lincoln. We will use the Gettysburg Address and the 2nd Inaugural Address to look at themes of Providence, Predestination and Atonement in the writings of one of our greatest presidents. Lincoln never joined a church or chose to be baptized, yet he knew his Bible backwards and forwards and used theological concepts readily in his speeches.
