Stewardship Inspiration: Danielle Reed

I love being an Usher at St. Martins.
Although I am new to this service position, and I have a lot to learn about the art of ushering, it is satisfying to find a way to serve the St. Martin's community that I one-hundred percent enjoy.
I searched for many years to find a place that I could offer my time and talent. Although there were many great moments in other types of service, being an usher is my true calling. I love the job: I love saying hello to people and the moments of minor drama (will we run out of bulletins!), and I love counting all the people who attend, a lesser-known ushering task, but one that appeals to my scientific nature.
This season is for Stewardship, and while ushering is an integral part of my service, another essential element is giving financially. In this realm, I switched to on-live giving during the pandemic, and I get a sense of peace each week when I get a message saying that the church has received my automatic payment. I feel like a faithful steward knowing that I am working steadily to honoring my annual pledge even when I am traveling and unable to put money or check in the offering plate each week. Ushering and online giving makes me feel great, and I am happy to find ways to contribute to St. Martin's that work well for me and support the church's finances and sense of community. Regular online giving creates stability that we all benefit from, and finding my perfect job as an usher puts a smile on my face!
In Christ,
Danielle Reed
