Blessed Baking: May Update
Posted May 6, 2021
An update from Jane Good on Blessed Baking's May 1 work day at St. James the Less:
"Good morning and thank you for baking and donating.
As always, your efforts are greatly appreciated and very necessary. Who doesn't feel better eating a homemade cookie?
We have been doing this work for the St. James community for over a year and the difference you have helped make in that community is real!
The number of people who come each week to feed their families and also pick up food for neighbors and friends is steady even as life appears to be returning to a new "normal".
I thank you for sticking with your efforts!
The pictures below were taken around 8 a.m. just as we were about to open. Father Kellner, in shorts, led us in prayer on the feast day of St. James the Less.
Donna Duncan took this picture (below) of Al Good. She and [her husband] Garry volunteer on Saturday mornings. We were loading a car with SHARE boxes for an angel named Tony. He distributes the boxes and bread to his neighbors.
Paul, in gray sweatshirt, helps Madeleine run The Welcome Table.
PS: The baby clothes go to Church of the Crucifixion at 8th and Bainbridge. [A part of our Refugee Resettlement Ministry's work.]"
