GREG WILLIAMS, NORTHWEST INTERFAITH MOVEMENT HONOREE: THURSDAY, JUNE 5
The Annual NIM Assembly will this year be honoring Pam Holliman, director of Samaritan Counseling Center, at its awards banquet on Thursday, June 5, at the Germantown Jewish Centre.
The theme this year is “Creating Healthy Communities” and as such, St. Martin’s has nominated parishioner Greg Williams to also be honored for making a significant contribution to building up the community served by Northwest Interfaith Movement.
Greg has coordinated St. Martin’s ministry at Northwest Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network. His “Walk A Crooked Mile” bookstore at the Mt. Airy Station has become a true community center.
Join us by purchasing a seat ($35) at the St. Martin’s table. A clipboard sign-up indicating your wish to attend is in the parish house foyer with an envelope to include your check for the dinner.
The deadline for receipt of both is May 23.
Is there a graduating senior in your household?
Give us the name of your graduating student (either high school or college) and what college he/she will be attending and we will acknowledge the accomplishment at Sunday's Annual Meeting on May 18. Email info to Karen Clayton, kclayton@stmartinec.org.
A Word from the Rector
Welcome to the website of Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields!
Our last four-service schedule with Holy Eucharist at 8am, 9am, 10:15am and 11:15am is Pentecost, May 11.
Beginning Sunday, May 18 (Trinity Sunday), we'll be enjoying a more relaxed schedule with two-services at 8 and 10 a.m. Christian formation classes for all ages take a summer break.
Additionally on May 18, we invite you to wear your casual picnic attire to church because following the 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist, we will hold vestry elections and conduct (a brief) Annual Meeting. Afterwards, we'll be enjoying burgers and dogs fresh from the grill and a sunny afternoon on the lawn behind Hilary House.
We'll provide the meat, chips and drinks; we need to know who:
(1) would enjoy being our grillmeisters of the day,
(2) would help bring tables and chairs from the parish hall,
(3) will contribute salads (both green and fruit) and side dishes (such as cole slaw, potato salad, mac and cheese)
(4) loan us a few ice chests.
Please sign up on the clipboard that is currently on the foyer table in the parish house or let Karen Clayton (in the parish office) know that you can help with the grilling or table schlepping.
Please join us, and peace be with you,
The Rev. Robert L. Tate
