Receiving Spiritual Gifts
I learned that, even though I had been told Guatemala is a third-world country, that fact is true only in materialistic terms. I met some of the most welcoming, awesome people on this trip—from the Dude, to our bus driver, to Juan Gonzales, a volunteer at a church in Chichicastenango. While we were helping these people in a materialistic sense, they were helping us with their spirituality.
Shoveling dirt is a simple thing, but it stands for something much greater.
